Transparent action and responsible handling of the funds made available to us are top priorities at humedica. In order to fulfill its responsibility towards our donors and the public, humedica regularly undergoes external audits to ensure that the funds collected are used appropriately and in a targeted manner.
Since 2008, humedica has received the DZI donation seal every year for the trustworthy handling of donations. humedica also follows the voluntary commitment of the Initiative Transparente Zivilgesellschaft.
Humedica's income comes from private donations and contributions such as donations in kind and cash donations, bequests, fines and membership fees, as well as contributions from companies and foundations. humedica generates further income through public funding from the Foreign Office and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development as well as interest and investment income.
For every euro donated in 2024, 85.20 cents went directly to our humanitarian projects. The remaining 14.80 cents were used responsibly for administration, advertising and public relations work. In order to be able to use as much of the donations as possible for our aid measures, we do not use paid radio and TV advertising or any form of internet advertising such as display ads or social media advertising.
We provide a detailed breakdown of expenditure and the exact composition of our income in our annual reports, which are audited by independent auditors.
