Yemen - a civil war has been raging here since 2015. Hardly anyone can afford food and the cholera epidemic has cost thousands of local people their lives. A lack of hygiene, too little money to survive, no food - women in rural areas are often hit particularly hard: they and their families are defencelessly exposed to outbreaks of disease and the economic decline of the state. In most cases, they have no means of earning a living and do not know how they can help themselves and their families.
humedica conducts training in various areas with women in rural areas. These consist of the following units:
Training in income-generating activities such as sewing, tailoring, embroidery, beekeeping, animal husbandry and incense and perfume production
Workshops on a healthy lifestyle and strengthening the resilience of participants
Business and marketing training, including the provision of capital equipment to give women the tools they need to manage and market their own work
In addition, humedica supports the representation of women's interests and networking so that they can assert their rights and needs in the long term.
