The situation on site
For five years now, there has been almost no rainfall in northern and eastern Kenya. Plants have long since withered and animals are dying - a major problem for the local population. Most of them are small farmers. They now not only lack sources of income, but also their own food and drinking water. The number of people suffering from hunger and severe malnutrition is growing all the time.
