Aid Following the Flash Flood in Nepal

The severe flash floods have caused widespread destruction in Nepal. humedica, together with local partners, is helping those affected by providing urgently needed relief supplies and medical support.

Current Situation in Nepal

A severe flash flood struck parts of the Himalayan region in Nepal and Tibet on the morning of August 26, 2026. The flash flood was triggered by the collapse of a glacier, which created a massive avalanche of ice and debris that was swept further downstream.

The masses of water and mud devastated entire communities: houses, roads, and bridges were destroyed. As a result, remote villages are difficult to reach.

According to current reports, more than 1,400 people have lost their lives. More than 6,000 people are still missing. (As of September 16, 2026)
