Current situation in Myanmar

The people of Myanmar have been under the influence of a military regime for years and suffer from great poverty. On March 28, 2025, there was another major disruption: a 7.7-magnitude earthquake destroyed houses, infrastructure and livelihoods. humedica helped at the time with a medical team. The situation is particularly dramatic for pregnant women, mothers with small children and people in remote villages - in many places there is a lack of medical care, clean drinking water and food.

How humedica helps

Together with our partner World Concern Myanmar, we are supporting around 4,300 people in 24 particularly affected villages. Our holistic approach combines acute emergency aid with long-term resilience building:

Referral of seriously ill patients to local hospitals
Training on health, hygiene and nutrition for mothers and children
Promoting climate-friendly agriculture for food security
Strengthening families by supporting them in developing their own business ideas - for example through microloans and practical training

How you can help

With 150 euros, a sick person can be taken to hospital and treated there.
With 155 euros, a volunteer can receive training on mother-child health, hygiene and nutrition. The knowledge is passed on to mothers via this person.
With 480 euros, 30 people can receive several days of training to develop their own business idea. This will enable them to provide for their families independently.
