The situation on site
A third of people in Nepal live below the poverty line. The 2015 earthquake, which claimed the lives of around 10,000 people, set the country's economy back: important infrastructure was destroyed. humedica therefore relies on partners who work with local people to develop plans and strategies for action in the event of a disaster. Because knowing what to do in the event of a disaster saves lives.
Even "minor" disasters cause long-term damage to the people there. For example, around two thirds of the population work in agriculture.
