With hardly any rain for five years and a huge increase in population due to refugees from Somalia, people in southern Ethiopia have been struggling with food shortages for months. Many families no longer know how to feed themselves and their children. More and more people are suffering from malnutrition - a situation that is particularly dangerous for the youngest children, as well as pregnant and breastfeeding women. The refugees and the inhabitants of the region are equally affected by the drought.
With special food for people affected by acute malnutrition
With an examination for (expectant) mothers and children for the early detection of malnutrition

For 5 euros, a child under the age of 5 receives an examination to determine whether they are malnourished or undernourished
With 50 euros, two malnourished pregnant or breastfeeding women receive nutritional therapy
With 100 euros, four people receive a basic supply of wheat flour for a month
1,000 euros will cover the annual medical costs of 250 people displaced by drought
